Speaking of Sci-Fi
Travel back in time for an evening with Friday & Saturday, September 16 & 17 8:00pm
Center Stage Theater - 751 Paseo
Nuevo
Speaking of Sci-Fi Stepping out of our
usual format Speaking of Stories transforms Center Stage into a 1940’s radio
station to present our second annual Speaking of Sci-Fi, an
evening of classic radio plays Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17. We’ll
bring you thrills, chills and, of course, a hero to save the day! These classic plays are brought to life through the talented voices of Hunter Bodine, Jon Koons, Devon Bell and Chris Turner. The setting of a live 40’s radio broadcast will replace Speaking of Stories usual format, complete with on-stage special effects provided by Chris Turner, who wowed the audience with his sound effects magic for the first Speaking of Sci-Fi last fall. This year Chris will be showing off his acting talents as well as his sound effects wizardry. Speaking of Sci-Fi is the first of three shows Speaking of Stories will present this fall at Center Stage. October brings Twice Told Tales, an evening of fairy tales set to music with live accompaniment provided by the Robin Cox Ensemble. In December we close out this new series with the return of Holiday Chestnuts, our popular Christmas show which this year will include performances by Tony Miratti and Ed Romine. Speaking of Sci-Fi plays Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17 at 8pm at Center Stage Theater, 751 Paseo Nuevo, in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Box Office hours are Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and 1 hour before each performance. Tickets are $20, or you can buy a subscription for all three shows for just $45. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are welcome. Call the box office at (805)963-0408 or log on to www.centerstagetheater.org.
