Voices From Vietnam
in collaboration with the Santa
Barbara Maritime Museum
Wednesday, February 24th 7:00
at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum
We are pleased to be collaborating again with the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum to present a night of stories about the Vietnam War. Stories recording diverse experiences of the war will be presented in conjunction with the SBMM’s exhibit
Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam.
“You’re the one who must decide who’s to live and whose to die.
You’re the one who gives his body as a weapon of the war –
and without you all the killing can’t go on.”
This quote, scribbled on the bottom of a canvas bunk, is one of many inscriptions that make up
Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam, which runs at the Santa Barbara
Maritime Museum through April 24th. The exhibit contains graffiti and artifacts left behind by the troops on their three-week journey to war.
In conjunction with this moving tribute Speaking of Stories will present Voices
From Vietnam, will include stories by the men and women who served during the war as well as the Vietnamese who lived through this turbulent time and its aftermath.
